Rice Bhakri

Rice Bhakri (तांदळाची भाकरी) is a beloved flatbread from the Konkan, Malvan, and Goan regions of Maharashtra. It’s simple, gluten-free, soft, and usually paired with fish curry, solkadhi, or spicy chutneys. Perfect comfort food along the coast!

Ingredients:
  • Rice flour

  • Water

  • Salt (as per taste)

Steps:

Mixing the Dough:

  • First, mix the dry ingredients well in a bowl.

  • Then, gradually add 2 cups of water and continue mixing until the mixture becomes thick.

Cooking the Bhakri:

  • Heat a dosa pan on high flame.

  • Pour the prepared mix onto the pan and spread it evenly.

  • Cover the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • After 2-3 minutes, remove the lid and turn the bhakri to cook for another minute.

Serving:

  • Once cooked, the Rice Bhakri is ready to be served hot. It can be served with either vegetarian or non-vegetarian dishes.
